WITNESS TO THE UTTERMOST
Read Acts 28 The Ministry in Rome
"So when they had appointed him a day, many came to him at his lodging, to whom he explained and solemnly testified of the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus from both the Law of Moses and the Prophets, from morning till evening. (Acts 28:23 NKJV)
Paul survived through life threatening experiences of shipwreck and being bitten by snake. He was a witness for the Lord throughout. On Malta, Paul prayed for the father of Publius resulted in his healing and many came to be prayed for healing. They continue their journey to Syracuse then Rhegium to Puteoli and toward Rome. He was permitted to dwell by himself with the soldier who guarded him.
Regardless where Paul was; he bears witnesses of Christ. He did so while in prisons, in the Synagogue, market place, during the shipwreck and now house arrest, God has used His children to bring hope and encouragement to those around them.
Paul now in Rome after three years he made this wish just as the Lord promised. He The disciples came to encourage him. Paul thanked God for them. He showed these three characteristics we could emulate
Contentment with all the sufferings, he took the advantage of his arrest with contentment. There was no one word of complaint. How could he do it? Rest on the sovereignty of God. He did not see himself a prisoner of Rome but of the Lord. Those soldiers were his captive audience instead of feeling himself as a captive. He sees things fallen on him was for the furtherance of the Gospel.
Continuing In serving God - And it came to pass after three days that Paul called the leaders of the Jews together. So when they had come together, he said to them: Men and brethren, though I have done nothing against our people or the customs of our fathers, yet I was delivered as a prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans, (Acts
Confident - Therefore let it be known to you that the salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles, and they will hear it! (Acts
Prayer: Lord, whatever circumstances You have empowered us to live as a witness. I may not see much in what I have done not well sought after. By Your grace I am still doing with joy whatever You have entrusted me.
