Read Jeremiah 29 Jeremiahs Letter to those captives in Babylon

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV)

Have you ever sought or pursue something precious to you, whether be something you misplaced or seek to achieve? Your thought is constantly upon it. A young couple was desperate went around search for their missing child at the trade fair. All their thoughts were directed to search for the child. Thoughts of well-being and safety. How much more is Gods thought upon His people?

Here In this time Judah was taken into captivity. They couldnt see any future and hope. How shall we sing the LORDs song in a foreign land? (Psalms 137:4). However, Jeremiah exhorts them that Gods thoughts and plans were for their interest.

Gods plan is one of peace, shalom speaking of friendship, delight, welfare and prosperity not confusion, frustration and destruction. They must in the midst of captivity settle down and be content of His providence. (

God has a future, an expected end for them. His plan was to bring them back but not now. They will ultimately return and rebuilt Jerusalem after the seventy years of captivity. The end is always good and perfect in Gods own time not ours.

God has given them the hope, that they might seek Him. Hope in God is a certainty. Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; For I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God. (Psalms

His plan and purpose meant for us even beyond our understanding and imagine. They will come to pass. It's possible for us only because God did it through Christ.

Prayer: Lord, You know us before we were born. Your plan for us is one of peace. You have left us with Your peace as we abide in You. You have given us a future and a hope we can confidently submit You our lives.
