MINDFUL OF US
Read Psalm 8 The Glory of the LORD in Creation
What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? (Psalms 8:4 NKJV)
We stand in awl as we look at the universe. The glory of God is seen with the heavens, the moon and the starts in their places. The universe speaks of the solemnity, constancy and order, its immensity that we cannot compute their number and distances by any effort of thought. "For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities - His eternal power and divine nature - have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse (Romans 1:20).
The Psalmist loss of words when he ponders the heavenlies in comparison with men. What do we know about ourselves? A fashioned creation by God (Genesis 1:27; Psalm 139) With that vastness, man is insignificant in comparison yet personal to God. God would be mindful of his condition.
God makes him great by stamping him with His own image and giving him the sovereignty of things. God visited man through Christ incarnated. He places us so lofty a position, so exalted a destiny (Ephesians 1:3)
Prophetically, David, without knowing was attributing to Christ, the Son of man. He is made a little lower than heavenly beings, angels i.e., less than Divine yet he is crowned with glory and honour (Psalms 8:5). He is ascended to sovereignty (Psalms 8:6). It has connotation to Christ as interpreted by Christ Himself in Matthew 21:16 and Paul in Hebrews 2:6-8
Prayer: Lord, You relate to us in a personal manner. You are mindful of us and remember us. We response by living out the rights and authority You have given us over creation as a witness of Your design.
