Here is Nehemiah who had done much for Israel. The rebuilding of the wall, the restoration of worship, appointment of trustworthy leaders to oversee the work of the temple, even the restoration of the word and renewal of the covenant with God. He having done all these prayed God to remember him.

Nehemiah prayed that his labour be not in vain. His attitudes towards Gods work were dependence upon Him from beginning and now ending. And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us, And establish the work of our hands for us; Yes, establish the work of our hands. (Psalms 90:17).

His desire was that God would graciously accept what he has done. He had assigned the support of the worship of God in the temple, the regulating of the wards and courses in it, both priests and Levites, the maintenance of them; which being done from a right principle. It was out of love to God. He did with a right view, the glory of his name.

Prayer: Father, You do remember me. Time and time again You reminded me that You know me through this word. In Your mercy and grace, You will not blot out whatever is done with a heart of gratitude to honour Your Name. I have failed to honour You in my weakness doing out of my own accord and not sought Your will. I ask as You remembered me do sustain and establish the work of my hands.
