Read Ezra Darius Approves the Rebuilding
So the elders of the Jews built, and they prospered through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. And they built and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the command of Cyrus and Darius and Artaxerxes king of Persia. (Ezra 6:14)
The leaders went on with the building of the temple. The Lord overruling the heart of Darius the king and his council in their favour: They were not deterred by those who challenged them of the project. Because God was watching over them. They requested for the search to verify if they were issued the permission by Cyprus. They found the scroll Memorandum" providing the details of the decree.
Prophets Haggai and Zechariah prophesied and Zerubbabel and Jeshua responded to rebuild the Temple of God in Jerusalem.
The work continued until it is completed. The Temple of God was then dedicated with sin offering and great joy by all who had returned from exile. (Ezra 5-6) This fulfilled the prophecies spokem to them,
The commandment of Cyrus () that of Darius, ( ) were positive for the rebuilding. but Artaxerxes was a hinderer of the building, (). The enemies tried to discourage and frighten the people of Judah, from their work. They wrote a letter of accusation to Artaxerxes. So he issued orders to stop their work until the second year of the reign of King Darius of Persia (Ezra 4) that reverse the decision and finally see the completion of the building.
Prayer: Father God, whatever You have me to do and times of challenges do come. I do because You have empowered me. I continue because of Your constant reminder of those who spoke Your word into my life. I will not quit in partnership with You as the project is also my growth, dependence upon You and investment in eternality.
