Read Numbers 24:15-24 Balaams Final Messages

I see Him, but not now; I behold Him, but not near; A Star shall come out of Jacob; A Scepter shall rise out of Israel, And batter the brow of Moab, And destroy all the sons of tumult. (Numbers 24:17)

Balak the king of Moab saw the Israelites camping near his territory. He wanted to curse them and see their destruction. He summoned Balaam to do so. A couple of times Balaam knew God had opposed the acts yet he rationalised and went. He was acting in deception as he knew he was not supposed to follow Balak's men to curse Israel (Numbers 22:12).

Each time and for seven times instead of cursing Israel; Gods spirit came upon Balaam to bless Israel. While operating prophetically; he saw One from a distance as coming to judge Moab. God is Sovereign even sorcerer like Balaam exercised what God condemned; He turned it around to show Himself.

He addressed it as the star out of Jacob (Israel), an interpretation alluded to the Messiah, the star of David. The Messiah's coming is certain from ( ) Jesus is also called the Morning Star (Revelation 22:16) for His glory, brightness, and splendour, and for the light that comes by Him, and the influence of His grace, and the blessings of it on the sons of men

A Sceptre allures to Christs royalty. He has the name of the King He rules His kingdom with a sceptre of grace, mercy, and righteousness. He was to spring from Jacob or Israel, so he did, being a son of Abraham, a descendant of Jacob, of the tribe of Judah, and family of David, (; ;)

He shall judge and destroy the leaders and cities of Moab. This was literally fulfilled in Davids rule historically (; ) and refer figuratively to Christ. For Christ shall subdue all His enemies, ()

Prayer: Father God, You are the Messiah who is our Light and Star. You rule with truth and justice and there is no darkness in You. You are our Guiding Star and have the Sceptre in Your hand that everyone must bow and confess You are Lord.
