Read Numbers 14:13-25 Moses Intercedes for the People

But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it. (Numbers 14:24)

The name Caleb, means dog. Used as adverb to mean faithful. He was different in his attitude and spirit. What makes Celeb different from the rest when they all saw the same?

The Lord told Moses to send out a leader from each of the twelve tribes to explore the land of Canaan, which He promised them. He did and named the twelve with instructions to note the people living there if they are strong or weak, few or many, the kind of land they live in, if their towns were protected, the soil fertile or poor and bring back samples of the crops. (13:1-20) They returned after exploring the land for forty days, and reported to the whole community what they had seen as indeed a bountiful country.

All of them except Joshua and Caleb confessed their negative perspective of it as impenetrable walls and will not go against them (13:21-.33). Here God said of Caleb has a different spirit. He saw the land but more than the land; he saw the Lord. He said the Lord gave us the land and acknowledged Moses as Gods leader. He was loyal to the Lord. He was focusing on the Lord expressing His presence and promises to encourage them (14:8-10). That's what make him different.

The doubts and fears resulted all those fighting men perished except Caleb before entering the promised land (Joshua 14:6-15) Surely not one of these men of this evil generation shall see that good land of which I swore to give to your fathers, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh; he shall see it, and to him and his children I am giving the land on which he walked, because he wholly followed the LORD. (Deuteronomy 1:35-36)

It doesn't mean that there will be no obstacles in Gods promises given us. In fact, majority will see in the natural and quit looking at the obstacles. Let us however look to the Lord for what He has for us.

Prayer Father God, You are the Captain of Host. Whatever the project or ministry is if You have led me there, You have gone ahead and I rest upon Your promises of deliverance and blessing. I want to see as You, Lord sees it.
