Read Malachi 4 The Day of the Lord

Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD. And he will turn The hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse. (Malachi 4:5-6 NKJV)

God is without beginning and ending yet in control of both. He will initiate and act on His own plan for past, present and future. Here Malachi warned of the final resolution of the wicked but salvation for the righteous.

God would sent Elijah before the dreadful day of His coming as a Judge. They knew who the prophet Elijah was from their history but is it the same one who confronted King Ahab who is resurrected and be send or referring to the one who has the spirit of Elijah? It is possible in either case.

Elijah was a man of great austerity and mortification, zealous for God, bold in reproving sin, and active to reduce an apostate people to God and their duty. John Baptist was animated by the same spirit and power, and preached repentance and reformation And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God. He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children. And the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. (Luke 1:16-17)

On the other hand, it is one of the two witnesses whom God will send before the great and dreadful day is yet to come, that is Christ second coming to judge the earth (Revelation 11).

He will cause the stir in the hearts of the fathers to see their spiritual responsibilities over their children. They will rise up to build them in their formative years on the word of the Lord. By their role model and reinforcement, the children are bonded to the fathers faith. The children will also turn to God of their fathers whose faith is in God. He will bring about spiritual renewal.

He shall call upon young and old to repent, and shall not labour in vain, for many of the fathers that are going off, and many of the children that are growing up, shall be wrought upon by his ministry. God will advert the judgment they deserved. God is not willing that any should perish.

Prayer: Lord, You have given us the anointing and the authority to bind our families together. I thank You for stirring my heart to set a role model of faith and Christlikeness towards my children and grandchildren. Likewise, Your Spirit draws them to see You and turn their faith towards You. This oneness begins with my family before community and nations.
