Read Hosea 2 The Unfaithful Wife

Therefore I am now going to allure her; I will lead her into the wilderness and speak tenderly to her. (Hosea 2:14 NKJV)

Jane was asked, Why are you still wearing the ring? Many knew her husband had being unfaithful and had deserted her for years. She remains faithful and still pray and does what she could for his return. Her response was, There were three parties to the marriage vow. Even though one has broken the covenant; God hasnt and as we made it with God I will remain.

A likely comparison is here with Hoseas wife, Gomer. She was unfaithful and went after other men. Yet Hosea went out of his way to redeem her. God wanted this relationship between Hosea and Gomer to symbolise He has with Israel.

Hosea said, ...I will allure her... thats to entice, to gradually open her eyes. Israel has committed harlotry by worshipping Baal. God is now giving her more for her needs however undeserved she is.

God reminds them how He led them into the wilderness, a place signifying lostness, helplessness and emptiness. A place of wondering, testing, trails and discipline as well. There, God got the attention of Jacob to renew his covenant with God, Moses was called to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt, Elijah was ministered to and revitalised. God would speak to her heart tenderly. He is patient and sent His prophets to speak to them for many years to return to Himself.

What a picture of Gods love for us when we were lost. He draws us to Himself. No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.

Perhaps we felt we are in the wilderness, where theres a sense of dissatisfaction, ministry does not take preference but is where God has our attention. He does discipline so to lure us back to Himself. Lets ask ourselves, Am I experiencing Gods discipline that I can grow? Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. (

Prayer: Lord when I am lost in the wilderness or come to a dead end I paused and seek Your face. It's here You are speaking to me. I marvel Your tenderness towards me.
